Ostranauts Patch Notes Tracker — 1.0 and Recent Updates
✔ Last checked: 2026-08-12
🔄 Latest: v1.0.0.9 — August 11, 2026. A hotfix to the 1.0 build. Highlights: fixes for the most-reported launch bugs, police and NPC brawling relief, prison-related and racing improvements, plus several null-reference fixes. Saves from v1.0.0.0 and later still work. Blue Bottle Games opened the notes with an apology — they underestimated how rough the launch build would be, and more fixes are stated to be on the way.
If 1.0 has been crashing or misbehaving for you, updating is the first thing to try before anything on our errors page.

How to read this era
The pattern across 2026: Fire in the Hold added the dangerous toys, Across the System made the simulation trustworthy, and 1.0 added the payoff content. If a guide or video predates April 2026, it’s missing at minimum combat, mining, fires and the gig economy rework — that’s the core reason this site exists.
Post-1.0, the devs have committed to at least another year of development. We check the news feed on a rolling basis; if the badge date up top looks stale by more than a patch, the errors page triage still applies while we catch up.
FAQ
What is the latest version of Ostranauts?
v1.0.0.9, released August 11, 2026 — a hotfix to the 1.0 launch build that addresses the most-reported bugs plus police and NPC brawling behaviour. Saves from v1.0.0.0 onward remain compatible.
Was the Ostranauts 1.0 launch buggy?
Yes, and the developer said so plainly. Blue Bottle Games publicly apologised on August 11, acknowledging they 'significantly underestimated' how many pain points the launch build had, and committed to fixing them quickly.
Will there be updates after 1.0?
Yes — Blue Bottle Games committed publicly to at least another year of post-1.0 development, citing fixes, UI improvements and unused feature ideas still on the list.
What was the Fire in the Hold update?
The v0.15 milestone (April 21, 2026): ship-mounted weapons, fire and smoke simulation, asteroid mining, rifles, Steam Deck/gamepad support and Steam Cloud saves.
Do old saves work after updates?
Through the 0.15.1.x series the stated rule was 'saves from v0.15.0.0 and later should work.' For 1.0 itself, compatibility wasn't spelled out in the announcement — being re-verified.
